GIVE, RECEIVE, AND BE THE SECOND CHANCE

The People of the Second Chance is a community of individuals who advocate radical grace and second chances. We champion lost causes and think that a second chance is a human right.

People of the Second chance have 3 core values:

1. People of the Second Chance are individuals who are fast to forgive. In a culture that believes in revenge and payback, we rebel with grace.

2. People of the Second Chance receive second chances in their own life. When we have experienced personal, professional, or relational failure, we refuse to be defined by our mistakes. We learn, we grow, and we have the courage to move on.

3. People of the Second Chance serve in places where people need second chances. We advocate for the vulnerable and fight for equality for the poor, the prisoner, and the voiceless.

These three values can be simply summed up by:

Give, Receive & Be the Second Chance.

PRISONER ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM: WE SUPPORT LOST CAUSES

Daniel Atkins is in prison for 2 murders. We talked to him about second chances and what that means to him. Watch video

Benjamin Kleinhans is in prison for being involved in a drunken driving accident at the age of 21. We talked to him about second chances. Watch video

In March of 2008, Deadly Viper spent 2 days with fifty inmates in a Texas State Prison. We were invited by Catherine Rohr of the Prisoner Entrepreneurship Program. Catherine is the Founder and President of PEP and is featured in the Deadly Viper book. She is an incredible advocate for second chances.

The Prisoner Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) redirects inmates’ talents by equipping them with values-based entrepreneurial training. The program is giving second chances to those who many would consider a lost cause. You can find out more about them at www.PEP.org

Deadly Viper is partnering with PEP to bring leadership resources to those incarcerated in the state prison system and helping prepare inmates for their second chance.

THE STORY CONTINUES

Over the next few months we will be sharing different initiatives that focus on this topic of grace and second chances. The journey will continue as we all learn what it means to be People of the Second Chance.
